The Golden Apple
On Sunday 31st May, at 5:30 pm, the exposition The Golden Apple will be inaugurated in the Exhibition Room of Villa Monastero. It will be open to the public every day from 10:30 am to 4:30 pm until 14th June.
Golden Apple is a cultural project that aims to explore the idea of beauty through stimulant connections between literature and contemporary art.
Visitors will be guided in this evocative journey by the the gaze and the artworks of 8 artists from different parts of the world: Antonella Goatin (Italy), Sachiyo Kaneko (Japan), Lesley Oldaker (Switzerland), Tomas Tzen (Germany), Irena Orlov (USA), Natalie Matvijenkova (Czech Republic), Ilze Laizane (Latvia), Hanna Pyrzynska (Polony).
Throughout human history the concept of beauty has always been defined in relation to stereotypes and categories that vary according to personal, historical and cultural backgrounds. The exhibition, then, wants to induce a reflection on the meaning of human existence itself. It invites us to open the gates of our minds to understand that what we are today is the result of an evolution that also passes through art and beauty and through the pleasant and inspiring emotions aroused by them
